Public Service Announcement

Today, a guy driving a van ran me into oncoming traffic when he swerved into my lane. He didn’t see me. He was on a cell phone.

This evening, a student dropped my course because she’s been in too much pain since she was in a car accident several weeks ago. The driver who hit her was on a cell phone.

A couple years ago, Nicole was hit by a teenager who ran a stop sign. All of my kids were in the car. The girl was … you guessed it.

You know what the lesson is.

Augh. I will think of this next time I want to get on my cell phone while driving.

My daughter is only 19 but she gets furious if anyone calls while she is driving. She yelled at me once “Mom, do NOT call me while I’m driving!” I’m glad she listened to me. It’s a first for her. Listening to me, I mean.

“Multitasking” is just another word for doing several things badly at the same time. It isn’t a skill.
